 Friend of NHRA, legendary motorsports reporter Froscher dies at 79
(7-30-2010) GAINESVILLE, FL – Norm Froscher, a longtime friend and supporter of NHRA Drag Racing, who worked for several Florida newspapers including the Gainesville Sun and later as a freelance writer, died July 29 at the age of 79. The media center at NHRA's Gainesville Raceway, where Froscher tirelessly worked to cover nearly every edition of the NHRA Gatornationals, is named in his honor.

The Outlaws have become one of the premier clubs on the East Coast because of the diverse group of power plants and great side by side races. Celebrating 50 Years" Sweepstakes.
Winkelman and his wife Karen received a hero's welcome when they arrived at the facility. Following a tour of the massive distribution center, the corporate offices, and the race shop, the Winkelman's finally got to see Gary's new hot rod when it was unveiled by JEGS Founder Jeg Coughlin Sr. and his sons Jeg Jr. and Mike.

(7-28-2010) CRETE, IL – This past weekend at the ADRL Texas Drags, Pete Berner and the Summit Racing Equipment team made some pretty impressive runs. Despite their hard work and obvious talents, however, both races from the weekend turned into first round losses. The first race of the double header Berner turned on the red eye with an unfortunate .001 red. Then, he certainly looked primed for race two of the weekend, qualifying second with a stout 4.14 at 175 mph. However, despite looking flawless in several rounds of qualifying, Berner’s GXP shook in round one and he had to abort the run.

(7-27-2010) BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG, DE – American drag racing superstar Melanie Troxel will return to the Europe for the second time this season to race in the FIA Nitrolympx, which takes place Aug. 13-15 at Germany's famous Hockenheimring.
Troxel will be piloting the same '67 Camaro she drove to the quickest and fastest run on European soil when she zoomed down the quarter-mile in 5.937 seconds at 242.42 mph (390.13 kph) on May 30 at Santa Pod Raceway in England. (7-25-2010) MORRISON, CO – Four-time world champion Pro Stock driver Jeg Coughlin Jr. came within a fraction of a second of a second straight victory in the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, taking runner-up honors to Allen Johnson Sunday at the 31st annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Denver's Bandimere Speedway.

(7-25-2010) BAYTOWN, TX – Extreme was the word for the weekend at the ADRL Texas Drags: Extreme racing, extreme conditions, and, for John Montecalvo and team, extremely good outcomes. Montecalvo went two for two in the Texas double-header, and after winning the last completed ADRL event in Martin, Mich. Montecalvo is on a three race winning streak. Such success has now given him the points lead in Extreme Pro Stock.
