» Jason Line NHRA FallNationals Preview
Defending event champ Line going for two in Dallas double-header

(9-17-2014) ENNIS, TX – This weekend at the 29th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals, Jason Line will be gunning for two trophies instead of one. The driver of the blue Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro won his first-round match last weekend in Charlotte with low e.t. of the meet before the event was delayed to a completion at this weekend's event at Texas Motorplex, thus setting the stage for the second double-header of the season.

Line, of Mooresville, N.C., won the delayed Brainerd event, which took place during qualifying at the U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis.

"There are a couple of ways of looking at this, but for the KB Racing team, our plan is always to make the best of the circumstances," said Line, the incoming points leader with just six races left to contest before the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing... [Read More]

» Greg Anderson NHRA FallNationals Preview
Anderson returns to Dallas, well ahead of last visit to Texas

(9-17-2014) ENNIS, TX – Summit Racing Pro Stock driver Greg Anderson has come a long way since the last time he raced in the great state of Texas. Anderson, of Mooresville, N.C., re-launched his Pro Stock career earlier this season in Houston, fully recovered from heart surgery conducted at the start of the year. Since returning to the driver's seat, Anderson has seen incredible progress, and returning to the Lone Star State to compete in this weekend's AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals at Texas Motorplex comes at a time when the four-time NHRA Pro Stock champ is positioned to claim his first win of the season.

"We've definitely come a long way, especially as far as me personally," said Anderson. "The last time we were in Texas was my first race back, and I had no idea if I could still do this or not. That was answered throughout that first... [Read More]
» Pete Farber Racing NHRA Carolina Nationals Race Report
Farber qualifies well, opens pit area to special guest family

(9-17-2014) BALDWINVILLE, MA – Pete Farber Racing made the best of a wet weekend at the Pep Boys NHRA Carolina Nationals Pro Mod race at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, NC on September 12-14, 2014 by helping a special family make some lifelong, unforgettable memories.

During the first round of Pro Mod qualifying, Farber encountered some tire shake and opted to lift in order to prevent damage to his supercharged CRC Automotive Brākleen ‘69 Dodge Daytona. By round two, though, Farber and crew chief Al Billes had resolved the issue and the result was a great 5.996 at 240.94 MPH pass straight down the center of the track. At the conclusion of qualifying, that run had ranked Farber in the twelfth position.

On Saturday evening, Farber was paired to run against the number five qualifier, Steve Matusek, for the first round of... [Read More]

Chris McGaha comes home to race Dallas in best position yet

(9-17-2014) ENNIS, TX – Chris McGaha is still relatively young in his career as an NHRA Pro Stock driver, but this season he emerged as a contender. Driving the Harlow Sammons Racing Chevrolet Camaro, McGaha will arrive at Texas Motorplex for this weekend's AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals secure in the top 10 in NHRA's Countdown to the Championship and looking to pick up points and work his way up for what is guaranteed to be his best finish ever in the ultra competitive category.

Returning to Dallas, a racetrack that the Odessa-native considers home, is always a high point on the schedule for McGaha and his crew, including father Lester McGaha, a veteran drag racer himself.

"We've put a lot of focus on this race," admitted McGaha, who earned the first Pro Stock round win of his career at the facility in 2011, his debut... [Read More]

Can 'two-in-one' race be kind to Lucas Oil pro Morgan?

(9-17-2014) ENNIS, TX – Larry Morgan and his Lucas Oil Pro Stock team are ready for a Texas two-step during this weekend's NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events at Texas Motorplex.

Morgan was the No. 15 qualifier for the Pep Boys NHRA Carolina Nationals in Charlotte last weekend, but he never got to race No. 2 qualifier Vincent Nobile because NHRA postponed the race. That event will now be completed this weekend, as will the regularly schedule AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals.

"It's two races, two in one," Morgan said. "I've been known to win two-in-ones. I'm excited about going. I couldn't wait to get home and work on my car after Charlotte.

"We're trying to move forward on something that we're just having a hard time accelerating. We'll be all right; I know it."

Morgan was in the... [Read More]

Brogdon has 'ace in the hole' for Charlotte/Dallas events

(9-17-2014) ENNIS, TX – There is no doubt that things will be different for Owens Corning Pro Stock driver Rodger Brogdon when he lines up for the continuation of the Pep Boys NHRA Carolina Nationals this weekend.

For one, the race will be run at Texas Motorplex instead of zMax Dragway because NHRA postponed the event from last weekend. And the first round will be run Saturday in what will also serve as the second qualifying session of the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals.

But Brogdon, the No. 13 qualifier for Charlotte, has one more surprise in store, though he won't reveal details until Friday.

"We've got a little ace in the hole we're pulling out this weekend," Brogdon said. "Our first-round opponent is not going to be racing the same combination that we had in Charlotte."

After making... [Read More]

Enders-Stevens hopeful of Dallas double with new Mach 1 colors

The Texas native is debuting a new partner with Mach 1 Global Services, which is backing her powerful Elite Motorsports Chevrolet for the remainder of the season.

Plus, Enders-Stevens is the No. 1 qualifier for the Pep Boys NHRA Carolina Nationals, which will be completed this weekend before getting another shot at a Wally with the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals.

"Dallas should be an exciting weekend," Enders-Stevens said. "Not only is it my home state, but we're debuting a new sponsor there, too. To top all of that off, we qualified No. 1 for the Charlotte race, and we didn't finish first round there, so it will be a race within a race."
